United power market of Belarus, Russia to start working from 2024

MINSK, Dec 20 (PRIME) -- The united power market of Russia and Belarus will start operating on January 1, 2024, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said in a news conference on Monday.

“In accordance with the approved union program … the launch of this market is scheduled for January 1, 2024 in regime of cooperation of the authorised economic subjects. Much deeper integration is to happen on January 1, 2027, which will allow the economic subjects of the two countries, all producers and consumers of power, to participate on equal conditions,” he said.
